My friend and I walked in and got seated outside right away. We didn't ever get a waitress or get asked what we wanted and we were there about 45 minutes .. a waitress walked by I got her attention and told her and proceeded to do that again to another waitress and still was ignored!! Thankfully the hostess which was a man came by and felt bad and gave us two free drinks...then we were so mad and left and went to Taco bell. Ha

Stopped in for a quick bite. Not to busy. Waiter was friendly and quite knowledgeable and helpful in a choice if eats. Chicken parm and the triple dip with chips were really tasty....note red dip was really spicy. Waiter did seem a bit absent minded tho....

Today, I am very disappointed. I came with the family after the movies and food and service was terrible. Asked for pretzels as appetizer and came with the food. I had to get silverware by myself, since the table wasn't ready. Asked for soda and got ice tea, asked for the voodoo chicken (my favorite) and barely found the peppers. This is the 1st time in this location and I can tell that probably will consider other options prior to come here. I been in other location and service cannot compare. To finish my day, my son spilled the drink and 3 servers passed and didn't help.

My family and I came here yesterday for dinner. We were very excited because they had Dripa on tap! If you want to do anything other then drink a beer stay away. My burger I ordered medium done was well done with an off flavor I couldn't put my finger on. After I figured it out. It was the taste of a burger you cooked on the grill and reheated a few days later. The fries were so salter my kids wouldn't eat. We complained and got an apology from the manager. Oh boy! Our server was awesome though.

Servers were nice. Flatbread was hot and tasty. Manager was a jerk and the bartender was astonishingly slow and didn't know how to handle the bar.

Meh. Bar Louie always frustrates me because it could be very good, but there are just too many things going wrong. I've always appreciated that for a chain, they have some unusual and fun cocktails and appetizers (tater tot nachos, holy cow!) Unfortunately for this location, like the others, there are problems. I actually stopped here one afternoon with my teenagers because we had an hour to kill waiting for their dad. The restaurant was only at about 1/3 capacity, including the bar area. After we were seated and our drink orders taken, we waited more than twenty minutes for our food orders to be taken. By the time my husband met us, we were an hour in and our appetizers had just been served. We ended up finishing those and going over to Johnny Rockets to avoid waiting another hour for our meal. Very disappointing, and just unacceptable.

Decided to stop there while we were shopping at Great Lakes. The drinks were awesome, then i get my voodu chicken sandwich. It looked delicious, I took one bite I almost spit it out, originally i thought i bit into a piece of chicken grizzle, so i attempted to take another bite. OMG seriously tasted like I bit into a piece of rubber... Not sure how else to describe it. I had my boyfriend take a bite just to make sure i wasn't imagining it... He reacted the same exact way. Truthfully it will be a long time before i eat chicken again. I told the waitress and she told the manager, the manager came over and apologized and offered to take the sandwich off the bill. Absolutely, that's the least that he should have done, I'm actually surprised that is all he offered, that experience killed my appetite, I will definitely not eat there ever again. If i was the manager serving that food i would have been so embarrassed I would comped the entire bill..

Good food. Tempura shrimp very filling. One sweet sauce one spicy and one smoky sauce. Great service. Beers were pricey. Music on the loud side.

Hamburgers are super good. Kitchen is open late. I usually hit this place up with a bunch of my co-workers. Beers are cheap especially on certain days. Their lunch deal is super cheap as well! Definitely a good sports bar.

I don't know where to begin- but my aunt & I came here after a long day of shopping at Great Lakes. It was a Tuesday night- and packed. This was our first time here and we'll never be coming back. I wish I asked for our waitresses name.. But whoever she was, she was a complete mess. Long ass hair that touched her ass.. And she'd play with it every once Ina while too. Why isn't ur wig up??? Ina high pony??? I'm surprised I didn't find a piece of hair in my burger. Ha. That would've been another story tho. My aunt noticed a cardboard sign on our table offering a free appetizer on the house if you text so and so to so and so off your phone. So I did! We had asked the girl if that applies to any appetizer on the menu and she said yes. We went w/ the calamari. Let's just say it didn't come out steaming hot like it was supposed to. My aunt didn't like it as much as I did. I guess Tuesday's after 5- is 1$ burgers.. So we went with that. I added on tomatoes and cheese for 75 cents extra I believe. As soon as our waitress left to put our orders in- I had told my aunt she didn't ask us how we wanted our burgers cooked?!!! Our meal came not too long after that and our burgers were BURNT. BURNT. Black. Didn't look good at all. We sent them both back. we ordered tater tots and those were ok.. Nothing great. She brings our burgers back out again and they didn't look like they were cooked medium. My aunt sent hers back and said she didn't want it. I stuck w/ mine cuz by then I was STARVED. Did I mention we didn't have silverware @ our table? Until our food came out? What is this?? A jungle?! That ain't no restaurant. And in between all this our waitress kept touching/ playing with her hair. Are u at work to make money? Or get yourself ready for a pageant competition? I wish I knew her name. Because she was just TERRIBLE. We were ready to get out of this place and as soon as our bill comes. We notice she charged us for our calamari.. Even after asking her which appetizers were free, which didn't apply to the sign and etc.) she still charged us. When we asked her about it all she said was "oh you're right I'm sorry!" I don't know if this was her first day or what but it sure seemed like it. She was terrible. And while taking our orders in the beginning and putting them in the comp- there was a lot of chit chat going on and not enough work. After work you can have a girls night and talk to 10 of ur work buddies then. Not while serving us! It just looked bad on her end.. Very bad. We won't be back to this location EVER. AGAIN. 1 star from me because if I was able to give them zero I would.

I had higher expectations. The portabella burger was good - I ordered tator tots because I had never seen them on a menu. It's just tator tots - no seasoning - same as the frozen section at the grocery store. Fish & chips - fish was burned and had some serious crunch (this was take out - couldn't return). Disappointing food.

I have never been treated so badly. The manager was rude starting with the first phone call to make the reservation. I was trying to be more accommodating than he was through the whole experience, and I'M the guest! Speaking from several years of working in restaurant (management to be specific), the customer service tactics are lacking to say the least. Long story short... They got the amount of attendees wrong which resulted in a shortage of seating for our party (reservation for 20, it was setup for 15). When I asked if we could have a table nearby (instead of just taking the table like most would do---but I know the anger that causes to restaurant employees), we were told no because it was another server's table. I told them any table would do, but explained I made the reservation for 20 so I would definitely need another table. The manager accused me of lying and continued to argue with me about how many guests I originally made the reservation for (also admitting it wasn't him who took the reservation so I'm not sure how he was so sure). This went on for about 5 minutes. STILL trying to be accommodating (and end the argument), I said, "we might have some people not show up (after work celebration... chances are good), if you give us that table I will be sure to give it back if everyone doesn't make it, and we will just squeeze in." I could barely get this out before he abrasively interrupted me to argue some more. I'm convinced that this manager has a screw loose. However, everyone was happy with their food, and I will say our server (I believe it was Breanne?!) was so amazing. I haven't had that great of service in a long time... Anywhere! I don't think one person in our party of 20 waited for a refill on alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, and she was extremely nice. ***update*** I also sent an email three days ago explaining the situation. Still haven't heard an apology or anything. GREAT job, BL!

I had actually never been there until one of my best friends suggested a lunch before shopping. What a nice surprise! Hummus and Tdaziki app was great, salad was tasty. Service was wonderful. I went back a second time with another friend and had just as good of an experience and enjoyed the vegetable roll up sandwich. I know this a chain restaurant but I think they do a really good job.

Get the service right - seriously - too close to too many other places . If it was not for the tortilla soup and beer selection you would get a 1.5 star . Owner - make bartender do circles around the bar. It is huge and talking to one customer in the opposing corner and not taking my order irritates me and makes you not get more cash in your hand. Would have stayed fir a few more but I am not flagging someone down for a beer when it's not busy. I can get a good six pack from a party store and not have to beg for a beer

Don't come on a Tuesday unless you want cheap burgers. We just wanted happy hour and we had to wait 30 minutes because there were so many people there for burgers. But happy hour m-f is great otherwise. Decent MI beer selection.

I've been to Bar Louie in Ohio...or maybe Kentucky, but it was a different experience. More smokey? Louder? Anyway, when we walked in, there was a sign "Please seat yourself," how welcoming. The place wasn't overly crowded, so we seated ourselves no problem. I ordered the pear and bleu cheese salad with chicken, yum! The ingredients were fresh and tasted great. My sister ordered the Chicago Stockyard with tater tots. The tots were good, don't skip them! It's a chain, but the food is consistently good. It's a good option for lunch or dinner when you can't think of where to eat and it holds true for this location as well. Service was friendly when there was actual interaction, don't ever let the sign at the door stop you! ;)

I like this place quite a bit and am sad that I moved too far away to visit. Service can be a little bit of a hack job (young, inexperienced servers distracted by working with their friends) but is usually friendly and prompt. I always have the bruschetta and it is amazing and inexpensive for what you get. Bloody Marys are great and practically a meal on their own. Love the s'mores pudding for dessert!

We walk the mall several times a week, but we never seem to make it in for Bar Louie's $1 burger night. We finally made it in there last night and we were impressed. My wife and I enjoyed iced tea and each ordered 2 of the chicken sandwiches (minus the bread) - so we each received 2 plates with a good sized chicken breast and a big pile of lettuce on the side. If I would have known we were getting so much lettuce, we wouldn't have ordered the Caesar salad to split... Either way, the chicken did not have a ton of flavor... but with a little salt and pepper, it made it much more edible. Plus I tried some of their hot sauce on the chicken; while it tasted more like a hot taco sauce - it worked fine on the chicken. The food was fine, the decor is very nice (the fireplace in the front of the bar is a nice touch). The music is loud, but this is a bar and was to be expected as we could hear it in the mall when we walked by. We will be here again in the near future. We had a great time and a great waitress that kept checking on us and refilling our ice tea. Great experience!

The drinks are extremely over priced...I was not impressed. The chicken Verde flat bread had so much on it that when you pick up a slice everything slides off. This place is not worth the prices.

Food is good. What you would expect. Service was great. Really sweet girls. Tried the chop chop salad and loaded fries. Food is nothing to die for but probably would return for the service and atmosphere

4-5 stars for happy hour in general. 2-3 stars for service in general. 0 stars for almost any time other than happy hour, because I'm cheap!! I come here WAY too often, and pretty much exclusively for happy hour: Monday- Friday 4pm-7pm. $3 for 14oz of almost all drafts (excluding high gravity stuff like dripa), $5 martinis, half off appetizers and flatbreads. The apps are generally really good, and for half off, you can't pass it up. It's the best deal around, and all you have to tolerate is it generally being super busy, and not awesome service on the regular. Oh well. Also good deals on Tuesday ($1 burgers, extra for add-ons but still super cheap) and Wednesday ($1 cheap drafts, drink that PBR). Aside from those deals, everything is honestly a bit overpriced. Outside of getting such a good deal, it's really hard to ignore the generally lax service. Sometimes service is good, but usually it's just meh. I let it slide for happy hour and the cheap days though, it does get pretty busy. Do be aware that it gets a bit bro-ish at night (especially on $1 beer night and when there's sports). But if you're into that, could be a good place to meet the Tapout-clothed man of your dreams. If you went to high school in the area, chances are you will see former classmates (avoid appropriately around college break times, if you're like me). And yes, the servers at all BL locations dress like that. It's so weird.

Been here twice. It takes time to order it takes time to bring the food. A friend place a reservation the manager won't take the reservation until ny friend can tell how many (definite) people would come and my friend already told him their will be at least 10 to 15 people that would . But NO he want my friend to call back so he knew the DEFINITE people would come. Ain't that something? If I am the owner of this chain I would never hesitate to take at least 10 or more customer per se. Because even if their will be no chair I would look and find for chairs just to make customers happy. That's BUSINESS!

Being a bar chain I've seen a lot of Bar Louie's around. Since I had never really heard positive things about them I had bever been. However, my fella and I popped into Great Lakes Crossing one evening and by the time we were finished shopping the mall was closing as were most eateries. Bar Louie was still open so we popped in. It was dollar burger night which is always kind of awesome. Even if it's not a great burger it's only a dollar! Unfortunately I had had a burger the night before so I wasn't really in the mood. Luckily the dollar burger also included the option of either veggie, turkey, or a chicken breast. I decided to go with the chicken breast and my fella went for the turkey. The chicken breast wasn't bad. It wasn't terribly flavorful but it wasn't dry. I wasn't blown away but it made an okay dinner. I had a bite of the turkey burger and it was also ok. I'm actually rarely impressed by turkey burgers and I didn't find this one all that fantastic but again, cheap and filling. I ordered tater tots on the side and, let's face it, I've never met a tot I didn't like so I was happy about that. They had a standard beer list and some decent sounding cocktails on the menu as well. The night we were there was also a Tiger's playoff game (GO TIGERS!) and it was a fun atmosphere to watch the game. It was packed in there so the energy was good. Our waitress was nice too and fairly attentive given the number of people in the bar. For a cheap meal and a fun place to watch the game I'd definitely hit a Bar Louie, but for kick ass food and beer this may not be the place to go.

I have to admit that Bar Louie was not our first choice. We had been to several other restaurants in Great Lakes Crossing and they all had over an hour wait to be seated. We were able to be seated in less than five minutes at Bar Louie. We started off with their Bavarian pretzel sticks, Delish. They were light and fluffy with just the right amount of salt. I have to confess that I didn't try all of the dipping sauces that came with the order, because I was hooked on the honey mustard. Both my husband and I order their BBQ burger with tarter tots. The burgers weren't the best , but I thought they were decent. The tater totes reminded me of HS cafeteria food. Overall, the dinner was pleasant. The ambiance was your typical Americana bar flare.

A great spot to drop by while you're making the rounds at Great Lakes Crossing. I've been to other Bar Louies, including one in Indianapolis, and this location is the best for ambiance and service. It's not as trendy/upscale as the other ones, which is totally fine. No one's really there trying to impress anybody, just eat and have a drink. I mean, you're at the mall. They have a wide selection of brews on tap. We had the chip platter that comes with guacamole, queso and salsa. The guac is one of the best I've had at a restaurant. It tastes homemade with small chunks of avocado. The honey mustard that comes with the pretzels is also yummy. Hot in temperature and flavor.

I have mixed feeling about this place. The food and overall atmosphere is decent but I'm not a fan of looking at the waitstaff's legs (or cellulite and tats) in the not-so-tastefull shorts (it's not a good look on most of them at any location). It cheapens the establishment and frankly could turn an appetite. Maybe jeans or black skirts with black tights would be better and a bit more stylish!?!? Now I understand the purpose of the pantyhose at Hooters ;) However...I do like the VooDoo chicken, buffalo flatbread and the chicken/cilantro flatbread (forgot official name). Fish tacos are good too!

I have been here several times with groups of friends and every time out service is AWFUL. We always go on Tuesdays for $1 burgers and half of us will get our burgers 45 minutes before the other half even though we all order at the same time. Our drinks are never full either. We asked to speak with the manager last night and he was not helpful at all.

I used to love Bar Louie. Good service, good food and lots of beers on tap. Well, they still have the beers, but it seems the service and food has gone downhill. We went on Friday for dinner and it took way too long to get our drinks. There were 3 people behind the bar, but only the guy seemed to be working. The other 2 women were chatting and laughing very loud. My favorite thing on the menu has always been the Mario sandwich. I think they must have switched the bread they use or maybe it was just stale...it was crumbly and dry and really disappointing. That was the first time i've felt that way after a meal there. The waitress asked how everything was literally 30 seconds after the food was delivered so barely time to taste it. After that we didn't see her for a good 20 minutes...the last 10 or so we were waiting for our check with her nowhere around. She finally dropped off the bill and after returning with our credit card and check, she apologized for the wait saying someone had dropped a drink and there was glass broken. I thought they had bus people for that kind of thing, but whatever. I won't be going back for a while. Too bad because I loved the place.

Well...I haven't been to this location, but I haven't been to bar Louie at all since returning last week from Korea. So in the past two years, they've made changes I find to be in poor taste. They were half naked, and kind think I saw one woman deserving to wear the attire. The service was bad. As a server for many years, I'm critical but understanding. I saw my server only a few times, but she actually never did anything but bring us waters. The cocktails and food were all served and cleared by other people. It could have been all the time she spent at the bar chatting up men that weren't even her guests to take care of. The fish and chips tasted like they were battered in Mercury. The avocado on my sandwich was brown as can be. Our friends burrito came out and the cheese was already getting hard, probably from waiting on someone to bring it out. I will probably try again to give the benefit of the doubt, but I don't recommend it.

Wow. The customer service here is ridiculous. All of these girls are so intimidated by other girls who look wayyyy better than them; giving bad customer service, attitude, looks & so forth. It would be nicer to have hot guys taking my order than insecure girls. This bar is absolutely ridiculous for the prices of drinks. I can go else where for drinks that would be a lot cheaper. And the food, overpriced! Never again will I spend a hundred dollars for food & drinks here again. Lesson learned and Not worth it, better to go to a nice decent place. This place is probably going to go down the hill pretty soon if it don't fix it's flaws quick.

I'll start by saying I come here often. I work nearby, frequently have lunch here and have booked their "back party room" in the past for a co-worker leaving. That went ok...the manager was kind of a jerk when I booked, but the service and food/drinks were excellent. I believe this pace needs a new manager. The party I booked was 2 1/2 years ago and when it came time for my work party he reared his ugly head to the poor co-worker planning it. She kept the poor service from me during the booking period to spare me, however it was not hidden during the actual party. She tried to quietly work with him on their differences but that didn't stop him from making a scene in front of all of us. He was visibly and audibly rude, calling her a liar and just in general providing terrible customer service. I couldn't believe what we were all seeing/hearing. It actually just stunned our whole party. Thankfully our server Bree made up for it tenfold, and revived the mood. She provided some of the best service I've ever seen. Thank you Bree, and thank you to the bartenders and cooks for the great food and drinks, but no thank you to that jerk manager. Bar Louie...might want to investigate this person. I would've given 5 stars had it not been for him.

My bf and I love bar Louie's in general this location has a great ambiance with the fire place and couches, etc. the staff here in my opinion is ok, but not as friendly as the novi location. Quality of the food and drinks are just as great in my opinion. Smart on their part for putting this place in the mall because stores close at 9 and bar Lou is open till 2am :D win win

During a recent trip to Great Lakes Crossing, we decided to take a break from shopping and have a drink and a bite to eat. We stopped at Bar Louie. Having never eaten there before, I wasn't sure what to expect. We ordered a jack and coke and I had one of their cocktails. I can't remember the name but it was FANTASTIC and came with a pineapple wedge. Refreshing start to the meal and it certainly helped me forget how disappointing my shopping experience was - not a sale to be had that day! My fiance ordered a plate of nachos (without the chicken) and I ordered the hummus platter which had tabbouli, hummus, and tzatziki sauce with cucumber slicers. The hummus had absolutely NO flavor and looked like it was made days ago. Some garlic or salt would have done it wonders. The tzatzi also lacked the typical tartness I was expecting but I ate it and the tabouli quietly. I ordered this on the recommendation of my server (who was so fantastic that I'm giving this place more stars than I should. We even left her a note on the receipt letting her know how great she was) and I didn't bother to complain. My fiance's nacho plate was big but not exactly what he had pictured. Maybe we ordered the wrong things (I had my eyes on the truffle popcorn) but our drinks, huge booth, and service were pleasant enough. I'd come back and give Bar Louie a second shot ...this time I'll be sure to skip both of those dishes!

Being on a double date on a beautiful, summer Saturday night, I was happy to find that the place was relatively empty with open tables on the patio! After sniping a corner table, we ordered our drinks and entrees and everything seemed like it was in order. That's when the live music started. If there is anyone who loves some live music ambiance at a bar, it's me. The realization suddenly hit that this ragtag group of musicians probably hadn't done too many gigs. They chose strange hip-hop sings to do live, overlaying the electronic track with live drums and vocals. Also, the DJ had a love affair with Rihanna. Not only that, but he sang his own (just as risque) lyrics, much to chagrin of a nearby mother and her 12-year-old daughter. (It was awkward to watch someone grow up to the raunchy lyrics of an amateur DJ.) All in all, it was uncomfortable to listen to...and LOUD. If you're gonna drown out my sophisticated dinner conversations, at least do it with pleasant music that is meant to be played live, not "Rude Boy" three times in an hour. Once we had our fill mocking the would-be rock stars, our party noticed that the waiter had been strangely absent during our meal, only appearing once to ask for a drinks. Again, it took forever for him to swing by to get our bill. In fact, we didn't even wait. My buddy and I had our credit cards on the ready as soon as we caught site of him. The food was nothing sensational, but wasn't too pricey so it made little difference to me. If I were to go back, I'd just sit at the bar and get drinks, much like the bachelorette party that had poorly chosen the most remote location to start their pub crawl. Weird night.

Great specials, especially for happy hour and sundays for half off apps. Great food, so-so service. Always friendly, but not somewhere to go when you're in a hurry or have somewhere to be after.

I have been a fan of Bar Louie's in the Flint area - great food and atmosphere - friendly service. I was very glad to find a location closer to home in Great Lakes Outlets. I met a friend on a Tuesday night at 5:00 PM. Not only was it happy hour (1/2 price beer and $4.00 wine) but it was $1.00 burger night! These were not small "slider-like" burgers but regular size. Some up charges should you care to add some select sauces, cheese and/or condiments. We each had a wine, burger, split a basket of fries, and shared a dessert - total bill was under $30.00 including tip. Food was good, service excellent. Can't wait to go again.

Wow! If you hear the sound of a bomb dropping, it's just Bar Louie dropping the ball. This is my first and last time at this location with the family. If it was the wife and I, it would be a different story as patience and time would be more of a luxury, but with 3 kids (normally 4, oldest was gone) that runs fairly short. (Ahhhhh, Wooo Saaaaa). Sorry, I needed to relax a bit in order for this review to be fair. We all were shopping the Great Lakes Crossing Mall for new shoes for kiddos (which we got a pretty good deal on four pairs at the Nike Outlet). Not being too local to that area of Michigan, we were surprised and happy that the mall had a Bar Louie location as we had a gift card we received over a year ago to there. It was about 12:45 p.m. on Sunday (2-19-12) when we arrived and we only had to wait about 5 mins for a table to get ready/cleaned off. We were seated promptly by a nice hostess and our waitress (Ally) came over about 5 mins after that. She was very nice, but young and somewhat inexperienced. She took our drink orders (1 Coke - $3, 1 chocolate milk - included in kid's meal, & 4 waters) and came back about 7 mins later with our drinks, took our food orders and off she went. We ordered two Chop Chop salads, one with chicken ($10/each with extra $4 for chicken and as well as 3 kids' meals, 1 pizza, 1 chicken nugget, 1 mac-n-cheese ($5/each)...and we waited and waited and waited...tick tock, tick tock, tick tock...after about 20 mins of waiting, we stop our waitress to inquiry about how much longer until the food is ready. We were told it would only be a few more minutes as the kitchen was busy. Tick tock...another 10 minutes passed, waitress was no where to be found so we stopped a man (employee) to see if he could find our waitress. It turned out to be the manager, and he informed us that they were just waiting on one of the kid's meals (the pizza). Annoyed with the fact that a kid's pizza could be holding up the entire meal, I asked him if he could bring out the other kid's meals so my kiddos could eat as they were starving. He said he would and went to the back to get them. About 5 minutes later, our waitress and another gal emerged with our meals. (Que the choir singing Hallelujah). The meals were passed out and kiddos went quiet as the devoured the meals. Wait, did you ask for more drama? I mean am I eating at the TNT channel restaurant because they know drama, right? The salads for my wife and I were prepared wrong/missing ingredients. They were missing the bacon, avocado, tortilla strips, and mine was also missing the chicken. That's it! I hit my threshold. I got up and walked around looking for the manager I spoke to earlier. I found him behind the bar helping out and asked if I could speak with him over at our table. He finished up, and we walked over so I could show him our salads. He was shocked by the mistakes. I had told him its one thing to wait over 35 mins for our lunches to be served, but it's a totally another thing for them to come out wrong. I asked him to take the salads away and not charge us for them as we would just grab a burger from another fast food store in the mall after the kids were done eating. He apologized and removed those from our bill immediately as well as not charging us for the kids' meals. I left a tip for the waitress (Why? Because I'm a nice guy), and we promptly left. I can clearly say that this was one of the WORST dining experiences I have ever had. Slow, uncaring, unresponsive (until pushed) to name a few. We still have a gift card that is unused to this franchise chain that short of using for nothing but adult beverages, I think I may re-gift to someone. So Congrats to you Bar Louie, for earning my very first 1 star rating/review, you earned it! To other Yelpers out there, Avoid this location and find yourself somewhere better to spend your money - you deserve it.

WOST service ( if you can even call it that) I've ever received at an establishment!!!!!!!!!!!!! 0 Star if I could! I have never given such a terrible review..but this place deserves it for their complete and utter lack of hiring waitstaff that could give to S*%*$t's less! -Friend and I arrive and are seated by a waiter..10 minutes pass and we flag down a few waitress and tell them we'd like a menu. 20 min passes and we still don't get a menu, or even have a waitress/waiter even after telling 3 of the staff how long we had been waiting. -The bartender with the faux hawk comes over and we tell him of our ordeal... he buys us a drink on the house....we accept -Even after that no menu, and no staff took care of us.. several of the waitresses ( the super tan blonde one..and the one with the star tattoo on her shoulder) even passed us by multiple times without a blink of the eye. -We flag down another waiter...tell him our ordeal as well. At this point we are SOOOO over it and decide against even spending a penny in this establishment -The waiter offers to buy us a drink on the house.. we accept... Seriously, this is no way to treat patrons. Even after buying us off with free booze we were still pretty pissed off! I will NEVER to go another Bar Louie again. Their staff needs waaaayyy better training!!!

Great happy hour and good appetizers. The regular food menu can be a little expensive for average portions and quality, but the happy hour can't be beat. Service is usually good as well.

Good for drinks, but food is not the best. I believe their bloody Mary's are the best I have had

Varied experiences. The first time I tried Bar Louie, I ate on the indoor "patio," which provided a comfortable atmosphere. The second time I visited Bar Louie, I was seated inside the very dim restaurant. While the lighting provided a romantic sense, I couldn't hear my boyfriend across the awkwardly long table. I even said "Good thing this isn't our first date. It would be so awkward!" The waitresses have always been friendly and helpful. The Peach Lightning cocktail is ah-mazing! The loaded tots are addictive! The Whiskey Cake is delicious! The Mario sandwich is tasty! The wings are not so good. Overall, I enjoy this restaurant.

I've been here 3 times so far. Each time was good, not bad, but not excellent. The waitstaff was always helpful and fast. I'm not sure if it's the atmosphere that is off or what. I do like that you can have a few cocktails then go shopping tho. The one thing I LOVE is that they have Dragonmead Final Absolution on tap and 39 other beers! They have some good happy hour specials too. The food, well..1 time out of the 3 did I enjoy it. The Veggie Wrap is really, really good. I would highly recommend that, the tempura shrimp, not so much. I know I will be back, because it's in the area and because of their beer selection..cheers!

I really like Bar Louie. The atmosphere is really cool, and you think for being inside a mall it would be the kind of place you'd want to hang out at. But I really enjoy going here the food and drinks are always really good and the bartenders are super friendly. It is a little on the pricey side but I think that it's worth it.

Ugh, I'm pissed off. My date and I came here for lunch a while back. We were hung over and thirsty. I ordered diet coke but my girl noticed a non alcoholic drink section that had a Hibiscus Lemonade that sounded appealing but she was really thirsty so she was worried that she wanted a lot of refills and decided that that wouldn't work, but then I noted that the Iced Tea on the reg menu was available in Hibiscus flavor too, so that's what she decided on. So, the waiter casually arrived and took our orders, we were surprised when he asked to see her ID for the H Iced T.??? We were like "for iced tea?" and then he said oh, I know what you want never mind. So, we started with some spin / artichoke dip, I ordered Fish & Chips because someone told me they looked good and she ordered a "Crispy" fried chicken sandwich. The waiter was always standing around but never seemed to notice our drinks needing refills. Well I take that back he did manage to refill my girls Iced tea a few times. OK, the food. The spin/artichoke dip was pretty bland and boring ,probably came out of a freezer bag and desperately needed garlic and seasoning. My fish and Chips were really greasy and the batter was too thick, the fish was odd and I suspect it was Tilapia or something not really suitable for traditional F&C. No coleslaw was included and it wasn't cheap, close to $14 if memory serves. Her "crispy" chicken sandwich needs to be renamed to soggy inch thick of beer batter sandwich because that's what it was. :( So the kicker came when we received the bill, it was $50 after a 15% tip, $57.50 for lunch? I turns out that those Hibiscus Iced teas were like $6 and she had like 3 of them or something crazy. I'm pissed, the food was gross, she only took one bite of her sandwich, I didn't enjoy my F&C and I dropped $60 on it. I thought the service sucked too. The waiter seemed too cool to do his job and the food was over priced. If I ever go back, If, It would only be because I was stuck in the mall and needed to kill some time. I guess they have half off appetizers and $3 pints during happy hour and they do have a ton of beers on tap, but whatever, or to take advantage of their $1 burgers on Tuesday, regularly priced at over $11 because this place is a joke lol

I love this place! We go there almost every weekend with groups of friends. It's very convenient because there's movie theater in the mall as well and we like to go before or after a movie. Their staff is awesome - service is fast, very nice and friendly attitude, know their menu very well and can help you choose. They have a very wide variety of beer and there's specials every time. Their menu gets better and better, they keep adding new sandwiches, appetizers and salads. I love their seasoned french fries and crunchi thin pizzas yummi! (Not the healthiest, but hey you don't eat it every day!) It's not an upscale place, but a cool spot to hangout with friends, watch games on their big screens and have a good beer. Now they have a separate part of the bar which is more like a club and the music there is louder just like in a club. Sometimes they have bands playing there and it's awesome. Summer time they have an outside part where is really relaxing to hangout and enjoy the fresh air.

Always have a hard time reviewing a chain since they lack originality and that personal feel. That being said, this Bar Louie was a fun stop on a Friday afternoon as we were heading to a concert in Clarkston. The places was pretty empty when we got there, but then again it was only 3PM. We ignored the "wait to be seated" and headed straight for the bar area. They offered 40 beers and were happy to provide samples if you weren't sure what you craved. The service at the bar was fast and friendly, after all we were one of about 3 couples at the bar so yeah it better be fast. The places was clean, there were many staff visibly working and prepping for the evening crowd, and the place felt as if it would be a good time into the night! We stayed for 2 rounds and an appetizer and moved on our way, but I would give this another go next time I am in the area. 3 "a-ok" stars for this chain bar/restaurant in a mall, but is better compared to other chain bar/restaurants and gets 4.5 unofficial stars!

Horrible service. Don't be surprised if you wait 15-20 minutes to even get waited on. The bartenders seem to worried about talking to their friends than waiting on customers. Don't waste your time going to this place!

I live near Great Lakes Crossing, so I've visited this Bar Louie 20-25 times. I've had nothing but good experiences and have tried just about everything on the menu. All the food I've had has been surprisingly good considering this is a chain restaurant. I spend a lot of time eating out and am not shy about judging food honestly, so if you order something, the baked mac n cheese with Fried Chicken, bacon, and jalapenos is very very tasty and you'll definitely have leftovers! The service is top notch. The staff is very friendly and always have a good recommendation when I have to choose between a couple of dishes or a couple of beers. Did I mention the beers?? They have a huge selection (40 or so on tap). Lots of good Michigan microbrews are available, which is good because I just moved back to the area and am new to the Michigan microbrew scene. After a day of shopping or whenever you just need a cold beverage, you can't go wrong with this Bar Louie!

Bar Louie is a great place. Excellent chicken nachos that are 1/2 off from 4-7! Plus quality $3 draft beers can't be beat. I like Arrogant Bastard Ale!

$1 beer bottles on Wednesday. That's what brought us there. Service was good and the turkey burger was much better than expected. If you can get past eating dinner at the mall with a bunch of people who eat dinner at the mall, you are in good shape.

I found myself in Auburn Hills, MI this week and was looking for a meal after checking into my hotel late evening. Aside from the offerings of fast food, Chili's and On the Border, I was told by the hotel staff that Bar Louies opened late. I was looking for something a bit more substantive so onward the drive in the snow to Bar Louie. It was cold and there were snow flurries. The menu was safe and I did not have much expectations other than a hot meal. I ordered the Flat Iron steak with chimichurri, avocado salad and sweet potato fries. It was perfectly done!! Quel Surprise? I would go back if I find myself near another Bar Louie.

It's new so they still need to work out a few kinks. Was waiting for a table outside when the server came and asked if we would like something to drink while we waited for an open table...I nodded my head in the direction of the tables and he noticed the two tables that had been empty for awhile. He apologized and sat us. The food was good but things were off, the burger was put together upside down, maybe that was their presentation, but probably just a lazy cook. And my cruz burger seemed to be missing the honey-chipotle, I asked for a side, and it seemed more like a salad dressing, not a sauce on a burger. Fries were cold too. My wife really liked her grilled veg wrap though.

I've been to Bar Louie about a dozen times now, and I continue to love the food, drink specials, and cool atmosphere. The outdoor seating has been great for the summer time and they have talented local musicians perform occasionally. The only downside to this place so far has been the lackluster service. The waitstaff at times has seemed a bit preoccupied, and the last time I went there we sat outside for twenty minutes before having to go in and find someone to take our drink order. The manager on duty was very apologetic and took care of us, but a greater sense of urgency from the staff would definitely be appreciated.

I love this place! It's nice to go to a bar/restaurant that doesn't need a gimmick or schtick to try to click with customers. Just good food. I've always had good service. Service was a little slow the first week open but I can write that up to growing pains. Love the bar pretzels. Love the nachos. Love the Shrimp Po Boy.

So I have to start out by saying i plan on being completely fair. although I am technically biased due to the fact that I am a regularly booked entertainer here. Let me start by saying that this place, no matter what, would get four stars from me because it has 40, count 'em, 40 beers on tap! From IPAs to Stouts to generic light beer choices. If you want to come have a drink and beer is what you plan on drinking, this is the place in the area to go. On top of their beer selection, and tasty hand crafted cocktails and martinis, their menu sticks out in a corporate chain world. From their Bruchetta served in a giant martini glass to their Hummus, Taboule and Tzatziti bowl, their appetizers are delicious and between 4pm and 7pm they are half off as well as their short beers. Yay for happy hour! I've only experienced a small number of their entrees but have always been happy with them. Nothing to write home about (unless you live in a town of only McDonald's), but delicious nonetheless. They are staffed with mostly women servers who rock tank tops and short shorts, both in black and even in the snowy winter, and mostly male bartenders and bussers. The only area they needed improvement in when they opened in the summer of 2010 was service. The service sucked pretty bad. It has definitely gotten better, and hopefully because they weeded out the bad people, but even though I drink there more than I eat there, I'd say they've gotten better. I look forward to my sometimes weekly gigs there because the music's great and the staff is really fun. The best part? The back lounge where you can chill out and drink and sometimes catch a live band. Highly recommended! Also, keep in mind that even though it's technically in the mall, you won't feel like you're part of any mall atmosphere once you're inside.

Eh. Been there twice, and I'm not that impressed. The food is good, but the service isn't all that great. Went in early afternoon on a Saturday, and the music was so loud we couldn't have a conversation at our table without yelling. Time before was a Friday evening before going to see a movie, and one person at our table never even got their food. Price is a little high for my tastes, especially when you aren't getting the best experience. Probably won't go back if I'm the one paying the bill.

Had takeout yesterday and went back today because the food n service were so good. I recommend the chop salad with salmon as well as the tortilla soup. tonight I'm having the Voodoo chicken with black beans on the side also excellent. Melissa is the best bartender and was super helpful with my food and drink requests. Music in the main restaurant and bar is a bit loud for a 40 something guy like me but the back bar is a bit quieter and perfect for conversation.

Overall, I have nothing but praise for this restaurant. I went on a busy Saturday and the place was packed but I was still able to get a table immediately. The place is huge and is definitely adequate for accommodating the large mall crowd they attract. Despite being so busy, the food arrived rather quickly and the server was very friendly and professional. I was also blown away by the food. I got a $13 chicken skewer meal and it came with plenty of sides. It was a great amount of food for the price. It was really good. I couldn't believe I was able to get a relatively healthy and filling meal at the mall for the price I did. If you are ever at the Great Lakes crossing shopping mall, eat here.

Came to the Bar Louie location at Great Lakes Crossing today with my husband and 2 kids (one kid is a baby, so she didn't eat). I know it's a "bar", but they do have kids menus and highchairs, so obviously families are welcome. Basically, the food was awesome, the service was not. The hostess seemed bored and annoyed, and said, "with how many people you have, there's going to be a wait". Uh we needed 3 seats, and it wasn't crowded. Another hostess said there was a booth in the back, and she sat us there. Our server also seemed bored, and took our order. We got a hummus and tatziki appetizer, which was pretty good. A food runner brought it out, and dropped it with a clatter on the table, said nothing, made no eye contact, and practically ran away. My husband and I were like, "Wow...okayy." Our entrees came out quickly, and was brought out by a much friendlier food runner. I got the Tuscan Chicken Pasta, which was delicious, and my husband got the voodoo chicken, which he enjoyed. All the while, a 6 top of people were being seated by us. Let's just say our server was more interested in them, than he was us. We rarely saw him, except at that 6 top. He came to refill my husbands pop, (which he also quickly just dropped off and ran away) but not mine, and when I was pretty much done eating, I was able to catch his eye and ask him for a refill on a diet. He then proceeds to take the 6 tops order. So I waited...and waited...and about 15 mins later he's like Oh yeah, your diet coke. So he's gone for a few mins and tells me they're out of diet coke. So I say cherry coke is fine. Then he's gone for another 5 minutes. I have no idea why getting a pop was so time consuming. He also took a least 10 minutes to come take our money so we could pay and leave. I really feel like he didn't give one crap about us because we were a lame family and not a bunch of drinkers ordering beers and cocktails. Either that, or he can't multitask. He also didn't offer my kid the ice cream sundae that comes with her meal, and instead just brought the check.I reminded him, and he was all, "Oh yeah". He probably was hoping we weren't aware of it, and didn't feel like dealing with it. I saw more food runners than him, anyway. So I might go back to the bar louie by my house in Laurel Park mall, because I really liked the Tuscan Chicken Pasta, but I really hope they treat us just as well as anyone else in there. ETA: my 4 year old also slipped on the wet floor in the middle of the dining room, and fell in front of a bunch of people. :/

I met a friend at the mall today and we stopped at Bar Louie for lunch. We both ordered off the lunch menu specials placard, which was resonably priced and came quickly to our table. I ordered the burger and added cheese for a dollar. It came to the table hot, but definitely well done even though I requested medium well to keep the texture from being too dry. It was an average burger, and burgers are generally tasty. It came with fries and a pop in the price, which was definitely a decent deal. The fries were lightly seasoned with a spice blend that included celery salt. It was unique and not unpleasant. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. She refilled our beverages before they were empty and only charged a dollar for a little tray of sliced cucumber for my teething baby to nom on. Overall, I would say that this is a standard mall restaurant with standard fare, but the environment was clean and service was quick and friendly.

We came here after a recent concert to get a few drinks. The bartender asked who played at DTE and was visibly angry that people were coming into the bar and ordering drinks. For the rest of the evening we received some of the rudest service I have ever had in my life. It was truly appalling. He purposely made us feel so uncomfortable for us that we left early. The tipping point came when my friend and I were having a political discussion - no yelling or even raising our voices - and he overheard us and threatened to kick us out. Excuse me!?! Message to Bar Louie: you may want to make sure that your bartenders understand their work schedules prior to hiring them and make sure they can interact with customers without threatening or insulting them. Unbelievable.

The service is not the best. We went in the middle of the week and did not get our food till 45 minutes! ( two different visits with the same experience) We were starving and we told the waitress who did not care. She did not come to our table as frequent, did not give us napkins, fork or anything to eat with! She did not ask us if we need high chair for our baby. The burger tasted ok, i have had better, specially after waiting 45 minutes. The waitress was talking to another one for 10 minutes like they have nothing to do. The fries tasted awful, lots of salt and pepper, and felt like its not fresh.. I wont be back unless im out of options

Used to go to this one until one bad experience where the food was awful and cold. The manager said he'd get a hold of me but never did so I never went back. The Rochester location is much better and has a great patio compared to this one in the mall. Still a decent place to grab a beer at the bar, as long as the beer is still fresh and their lines have been cleaned. Otherwise it may taste a bit off like my Oberon did. This one was my go to until a bad lunch with a date. Her salad was wet and soppy from an over abundance of dressing. My broccoli tasted like the plastic bag it came in. Just wasn't up to par. I still stop in occasionally but it's no longer int top five in the area.

It's really funny to go at like 10:30 everyone is drunk by then and some funny things happen such as I was there one time with my sister and there was a couple making out on one bar stool I thought the bar stool was going to break the food was ok and the waiter were not so great but it's more like a comedy then a bar and grill

the food is always very good! I like their comfort menu. Expensive but excellent drinks. As others mention, service is not top notch. Waitresses ere either always stoned or really this dumb lol..don't go if you have little patience and high expectations towards the staff. I've been a patron for a while now and I'm happy to come back

3.5 Stars. A solid chain that delivers an eclectic and consistent menu of standards and twists on bar fare. I am a big fan of their pretzels, salads and burgers. They also have a nice selections of brews on tap. I have also observed that they have very attractive waitresses. Some of the outfits I have seen them wear has made me blush, but they generally solid servers. If you going to GLC to shop or catch a flick, Bar Louie is a safe bet.

Went for $1 Burger night (Tuesdays, with drink purchase) and half off apps (Monday-Friday, 4-7). Had a 20-25 minute wait to get a table. The waitresses were visibly flustered and many tables looked food-less. We got our table and our waitress soon came to our table, followed by a acquaintance of mine that decided to take our order for her. She thanked him because of how busy she was. Asa was great handling our table. He accommodated our requests and got us what we needed in a timely manner. The chip dip trio was great. The queso is stand out hit. The burger was alright. I've had better. The turkey patty wasn't my favorite. Good for the $4.50 price tag, though. We walked out with a $15 tab after 2 burgers (with extras), basket of fries, and an appetizer. Pretty good deal.
